Feliz Navidad from a Jail Cell! - Week Five 12/24/14

This week I was taken to jail. They finally caught me. I'm sorry master, I have failed.

Haha just kidding, but I really was taken to jail this week. Argentina changed their visa requirements, entonces[then] all of our fingerprints expired, and we got to go in a cop car to BYU campus and get them redone. It shouldn't delay our flight plans, though, so that's bueno! I was willing Matt to walk into the station, but that didn't happen. :( Matt, open your telepathic brain cells!

This will be the last mission email that I send from the United States of America! This coming Monday, I will be boarding two planes that will take me to the faraway place called Argentina! I can't believe that it's already here! It doesn't seem real.
Packing to leave- what a nightmare!
Our zone
My flight plans are as follows:
6:00-Go to travel office
11:00- Board flight 1912 to Atlanta, Georgia
4:32- Land in Atlanta, Georgia
7:39- Board flight 101 to Buenos Aires, Argentina
7:55- Arrive in Buenos Aires, Argentina

Let it be stated that there is supposed to be a huge storm on Monday and that we are on flight 1912, the same year that the titanic sank. I will probably die. I love all of you. Also, I will be on an Airplane for 12 hours, so I will probably get thrombosis and die that way too.

We got two new roommates this week; they are really cute. They used to live next door, but they were having roommate issues, and we had two extra beds, so we invited them to move in. :) One is named Sister Naylor and she is from Florida, and the other one is Sister Starnes from North Carolina. Sister S knows Kerri from my folk dance class at BYUH! It was really exciting. Both are serving in California, English speaking.

It also doesn't feel like a Utah Christmas should feel; there is no snow on the ground and I can walk around without a jacket. Sooooo I guess it's like a Tulare Christmas.
Snow! (Well, a little)

This week we had the opportunity to listen to some very good devotionals.
-Sunday Relief Society- Linda K Burton spoke about Christmas and the gifts that Christ has given us. She said that the missionary purpose is divine, and that we need to love everyone
-Sunday Night Devotional- Brother Richard L Heaton spoke about how the everyone is born with the light of Christ, and that what we feel is more important then what we know. He also told us to read Alma 36:3 and put our name in it.
-Tuesday Night Devotional- Brother Gary E Stevenson spoke about Christmas and Jose Smith's birthday. Showed the #ShareTheGift video and said that it has been viewed 27 million times, and that 10 million of them were in Spanish (boo yah) He also said that as missionaries, we have special gifts that we can both give and receive, and those are
1) The gift of Jesucristo y su evangelio
2) The gift of the spirit
3) The gift of the message of the restoration

I love being missionary and serving the Lord, even when times are hard. I know that what I am doing is the right thing.
Merry Christmas!
Con Mucho Amor,
Hermana Spencer

P.S.
Look up these songs:
