This
week has been amazing, per usual. We haven't gotten anymore snow, but
it's been great all the same. Honestly, I can't remember most of the
stuff that goes on until after I have written, and that's where the
letters to mom come in.
On the 7th, I had my first
fast sunday as a missionary, and I didn't die. We had a mission
conference in the morning for two hours and I had a coughing fit in the
first 5 minutes and had to leave. I got some water and some cough drops
and I was back before anyone realized it. Not really. But it was a good
thing that we were sitting on the second from the top row of the
bleachers and so i was able to make a quick getaway. Sister Nally, the
wife of the MTC president, spoke about how Christ was the first gift of
Christmas, and that we should give something to Him this year. She also
said that as missionaries, we are playing the part of the angel in the
nativity story. That was super cool to me. Her husband, President
Nally, said that when we go out into the field, we are going to find
people that we know in the pre existence. Super cool! It was a good
conference, and I didn't even fall asleep once!
When
we got out of the conference, I went back to my classroom and (i had
been praying that I would see Elder Tripp and know that he was safe and
happy) had the feeling that I should look out the window. When I looked
out the window, there he was! I raced down the stairs and Hma Allen had
to chase me and I ran outside and saw him right outside the door! It was
crazy! I've seen him a couple times after that, but we're on
completely different schedules. He's doing well.
We
had a bomb diggity devotional yesterday. Elder and Sister Zwick came
and spoke to us and right in the middle, Lexi Walker performed "I Am A
Child Of God," "O Holy Night," and "I Know That My Redeemer Lives." It
was magical. I got chills. Sister Zwick said that Jesucristo won't
necessarily move mountains, but he will help us climb them. Elder Zwick
said that we should not do activities that are not worthy of us. That
really stuck out to me because it is true. Those things are not worthy
of a child of God's time. We are divine and should do activities that
reflect that.
I would like to say that if Matt and Cassie (Sorry if I spelled it wrong) were to walk to the temple at, lets say, after 3:30 on Sundays, I probably won't be there. Just saying. Also, if they were to do the 7:40 a.m. session on a Wednesday, I probably won't be there then, either.
Oh,
and we, as a room, have been trying to get to bed on time every night.
We have been pretty good for a solid three days now (yes, be proud). We
are on the Lord's time, and need to remember that. We are not our own,
and we represent the savior.
The days seem to
all blend together here. I dont really have anything else to report,
except that I know that Jesucristo es mi salvador y redentor. Yo se que
nosotros somos hijos de Dios y El ama nos mucho. El don de lenguas es
real y it is working en mi vida. Yo ama mi familia, amigos, y
investigatores.
Con Mucho Amor,
Hermana Spencer
