Wut - Week Eight 1/12/15

This week was a little hard. We walked a lot and I got sunburned many times because I didnt wear my sunscreen. It was also was good week of learning. I feel like my brain is a sponge and sometimes I wonder when it will fill up, and i won´t be able to learn anymore Castellano. My trainer, Hermana Yi says that I am learning really fast and that she couldnt understand a thing for 4 months. So at least I have that.

On Tuesaday, we were working in the morning, and we looked up into the sky and litterally half of it was blue, and the other half was black. We knew a storm was coming, but we work rain or shine, so we kept going. We ended up getting caught in the storm, and having to hury home in the rain. I am really glad that I have the bag I do, because everything inside stayed dry.

The next two days were really hot, and I dont have anything of value to report from those days. EXCEPT, that a HUGE  cockraoch got into our apartment and so after screaming for a while, I trapped it with a tupperware container and it was in there for like three days. Today, Hermana Yi needed the tupperware, so she picked it up, and the cockroach was still there, all dead and curled up, and it is still there right now. I guess you could say that we have a pet dead cockroach.

Yesterday we only had one investigator come to church, but she is so cute! She is 5 months pregnant and about 4´9". When she sits, her feet don´t touch the ground! The man that she lives with, (the father of her baby, but they´re not married) is like 6´1" and skinny, so they are the cutest couple ever! She cant read, but at church, she tried to follow along in the manuels and she sang her own version of all the hymns. She was really trying, and it was really awesome.

Oh, the mosquitos here are terrible! I have 6 bites on my face alone. It´s okay though, they´re not too itchy.

Our apartment is so hot at night! We are upstairs, and we always wake up sweating. So Saturday night, we moved our mattresses into the living room and that is where they are currently residing. It´s better out there.

Well that´s all I have to report, so untill next week!

Con Mucho Amor,
Hermana Spencer
